Development Update

It's been quiet here on the blog lately, but that doesn't mean that nothing has been going on. I will try to post more often even when updates aren't being pushed out to the website regularly.

I realized that the site could benefit from a bit of specialization, so I've brought two people onto the team. One is a web designer who is making the site look fantastic. The other is a business guy who can take care of business type things for me. The immediate effect was that it slowed down the next update, but in the long term it's going to be great for the site.

To give you a taste of what's coming down the pipeline, here are some things that will be in the next update:
  • An all new look to the site. It'll make it much easier to use and pleasant to look at.
  • Week and year views (in addition to the month view) of your log.
  • New easy to use navigation scheme in the calendar.
  • Weekly/monthly/yearly graphs of your mileage.
  • Warmups, cooldowns, and intervals for workouts.
  • Custom interval types -- you won't be constrained by a list we come up with.
  • Start your week on Sunday or Monday.
  • And more...
I don't want to promise anything I'm not 100% sure you'll see in the next release, but there's definitely more that will be available. There's going to be a lot in this release.

Typically, I want to do smaller, more frequent updates. But several things aligned to make this one take longer. Again -- I apologize for the lack of updates here on what's going on.
