Release Notes - Running-Log.com: v0.3

30: Add weather back to workout

Due to popular demand, the weather field has been added back to the workouts.

34: Comments get truncated

A bug was causing all text after the 255th character to be lost in the Workout's comments. This has been fixed and you should be able to type as much as you want now.

40: Move weekly totals to a column off to the right

Trying to make the calendar view more meaningful, the weekly totals have been moved off to the right in their own column.

44: Add <br /> tags where line breaks are to preserve formatting a bit.

Adding some HTML markup to preserve new lines in a workout's comments. They weren't being shown before so three paragraphs, for example, would appear as one.

29: Show average pace in "View Workout"

Due to popular demand, the View Workout page now shows your pace.

I'm liking the new changes...could you possibly add an option to change when one's week starts? I start my running weeks on Mondays and would love to see that in the options

I'll add that to the list of features to add. Thanks for the feedback.

(FYI -- if you email ideas to feedback@running-log.com they show up in that list automatically.)

you are a joke. are you kidding us? aren’t you the same Branton that posted on letsrun saying he was in the process of selling the site? apparently it was the letsrun guy, Weldon, that was looking to buy it. you're a shit. you are only rebuilding this site so you can sell it. you're as ass. ANYONE that falls for his shit again deserves what they are going to get.

Status Update (2/27/08 11:17PM)
As many of you have no doubt noticed, Running-Log.com has been having technical difficulties over the past week. I hope that this message will be able to address many of the questions that have been sent my way.

For the past seven years, I've offered this site as a free service. It started as a project in college so that I could learn various technologies and evolved into something bigger than I had ever expected. Though I haven't been running as much recently, I was for a long time the site's biggest fan and user.

When I became aware of the service outage, I contacted my web hosting provider. After some troubleshooting, I was informed that the database containing everyone's logs had been corrupted and no backups were available to restore the data. I've tried to follow up to get more details but the company has stopped responding to my online support ticket and will not answer their support phone line.

What does this mean for you? Unfortunately, I don't have any good news. With a corrupted database and an unresponsive web host, there's nothing I can do to retrieve the data. All of our logs are gone.

I'm as upset as anyone about this reality for two reasons. First and foremost, there are many runners that have lost something very personal to them (myself included). Secondly, I was beginning the process of transitioning the site to another online training log so that everyone would have their logs in a system that was being actively developed. Instead of improving everyone's online logging experience, the opposite has happened.

I sincerely wish that there was something I could do to restore your logs, but unfortunately there isn't. Please accept my apologies. I want to thank you for using Running-Log.com over the past several years and wish you many happy miles in the future.
